Therapy is a collaborative process where individuals work with trained therapists to address and improve their mental and emotional well-being. Through conversations and evidence-based techniques, therapy aims to explore and understand thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, providing support, coping strategies, and tools for personal growth. The goal is to enhance mental health, foster resilience, and improve overall quality of life. It may seem overwhelming, but your therapist (especially Emily) is there to be a confidant and an unbiased person who only wants the best for you and wants to be the person to encourage you to be your very best self.

The duration of mental health therapy can vary widely and depends on factors such as the nature and severity of the individual's concerns, the therapeutic approach used, and the individual's progress. However, there is no strict timeline for therapy, and the duration is often individualized.
Ultimately, the duration of mental health therapy is a collaborative decision between the individual and the therapist, based on the goals set for treatment and the individual's progress over time. Some individuals may find benefit in just a few sessions, while others may choose to engage in therapy for an extended period for ongoing support and personal development. It's important to discuss and establish treatment goals and expectations with the therapist to determine an appropriate timeframe for the individual's specific needs.

Emily uses a mixture of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Person-Centered Therapy. These methods focus on the individual view of the client, thoughts, emotion regulation, and overall wellness. Emily is happy to discuss each of these methods more in depth as you begin the therapeutic process.

Emily is currently in-network with United, Cigna/Evernorth, and Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS). She is also happy to do self-pay, sliding scale, and discuss the options for superbills.

Sessions are typically anywhere from 45-60 minutes based on the needs of the individual. Length of sessions will be discussed during the initial session and recurring sessions after that.

This is not only a normal feeling, but it is also a common one. Many of us don’t go to therapy because we either don’t feel as if we deserve it, don’t need it, are aren’t “crazy” enough for it. The fact of the matter is, that everyone DESERVES therapy. Everyone can BENEFIT from therapy. My suggestion is to try it out. See if the shoe fits. It’s an additional person that you can add to your toolbox that you can always know will be unbiased, supportive, and non-judgemental.
